      Loose leash walk workshop

• Learn how to prevent pulling and what to do when your dog does pull.
• Learn how to prevent leash reactivity.
• Learn how to deal with reactive situations when they occur.
• Learn multiple techniques and create a toolbox to deal with pulling and leashed situations.

The loose leash walk workshop is spread over two days and is designed to give you many different strategies and techniques in all areas of walking your dog on leash. The workshop is great for anyone who may be struggling to walk their dog on leash or for those that just want to make the walk more enjoyable for both them and their dog as well as covering what equipment is best suited for your walk, you will learn what to do in an emergency and understand why your dog behaves the way he does in those situations. Tennille has brought together many techniques to ensure that there is one that works for you.

K9 Camp is a where little friends become family and is the home of The K9 Coach.

Your furkid receives all day supervision, lots of hugs and kisses and an unlimited supply of belly rubs. Not to mention a nutritious diet to ensure that he can keep up with all that playing. It’s a place where your dog can run and play with all his doggy friends, set in the peaceful country, it offers fully fenced large outdoor areas and indoor doggy dorms for your dog to have his holiday while you have yours. And if he is all pooped out from all that playing, K9 Camp has an undercover chill out area complete with comfy couches for your dog to dream the day away.

K9 Camp has accommodation for up to 12 dogs at a time, to ensure he is getting plenty of attention and love which includes six hours of supervised play every day.  We also have a separate area for small dogs as well as an indoor play room.

Overnight stays are $28 per night with a daystay charge added to all afternoon pick ups. Hours are 8-11am and 3-6pm.  Sundays 3-6pm only.

K9 Camp also offers daystays for your dog at $20 a day. Leave your dog to have fun while you are at work.

The K9 Coach offers one on one consultations in your home. Each consultation is an hour and a half long and can be used for any issues that you are experiencing difficulty with. It may be a specific requirement like pulling on the leash or maybe you are having challenges in achieving a reliable recall. Or your dog may be experiencing something more concerning such as anxiety, distress or stress and you are unsure how to affect a change without making matters worse. Or maybe you have a new puppy and just want to make sure you get him off to a great start, then an in home consultation is perfect. It means that both you and your dog are in a familiar environment, enabling you to make the most of your learning experience.

Tennille believes in dog training rooted in love and science, combining these two elements to empower both your dog and you, using modern force free techniques that enable not only a greater result in training but to also develop a greater understanding of your dog's behavior thus creating a deeper relationship between you and your dog.

All consultations are private and are conducted in purely positive ways.

Hi I’m Tennille, The K9 Coach.

I am a dog trainer who is passionate about creating a harmonious relationship between you and your dog; whether it is a new puppy, a rescue dog or that your current dog has some behavioral issues.

Do you want to train your dog using the most modern and up to date scientifically proven techniques?

Do you want to train your dog using pain free techniques that ensure your dog is enjoying his training experience?

My focus is about creating a conversation; a line of communication, between you and your dog onto which we can build a relationship that keeps you and your dog on the same team and makes it fun and enjoyable for both of you. Training a dog is something that requires skill as well as consistancy so having the right tools in your toolbox makes that alot easier and learning those skills from someone who has trained thousands of dogs of all ages and breeds means that you are working with someone who can get you off on the right foot.

Bringing all my experience together with a deep understanding and love of dogs along with the modern and pain free techniques, means that with dedication and practice you can teach your dog the new skills that makes life enjoyable for both you and your dog.

It doesn’t matter if your dog is young or old, or if the problem has been on-going, it is never too late to teach a dog new behaviors and it is my goal to create happy, confident dogs, free from fear who are able to enjoy life, as well as help dog owners understand the true nature of their dog and how to help him be the best dog that he can be.

I am based in Te Puke and cover the Tauranga, Mount and Papamoa areas.
